In the inaugural book of "The Driftliner Series" Captain Gizmomon, Hayley, and Milky's routine cargo run is shattered by a crimson anomaly, thrusting them into a desperate battle against "The Silence that Screams", a cosmic horror threatening all existence. Forced to execute a "terrible, brilliant, suicidal plan," they confront temporal visions and a future version of their own ship, culminating in a universe-altering paradox. Restored but subtly changed, the crew returns home, only to realize the Chronophage's influence is spreading, setting the stage for their new, perilous mission: hunting the unknown horrors that now whisper across reality.
